About Traindle

A daily train guessing game for people who notice rolling stock.

Traindle is a small daily game hub built around one simple idea: trains have enough personality, history, and technical detail to make great guessing games. Some people remember locomotives by silhouette, some by route maps, some by stations, and some by the sound they make before they even arrive. This site is for all of those people.

The main goal is to make rail knowledge feel playful instead of encyclopedic. You do not need to be a hardcore railfan to enjoy it. If you know a few famous routes, iconic stations, or legendary locomotives, you can start guessing immediately and learn the rest through the feedback loop. If you are already deep into train lore, the fun is in squeezing the answer out of tiny differences in manufacturer, era, power, country, layout, or operating profile.

Each mode resets daily on the same UTC schedule and gives every player the same answer for that day. That keeps the game social. You can compare solves, post your share grid, and know that everybody else was wrestling with the same puzzle instead of some personalized random feed. It is meant to feel like a quick ritual: check in, solve the board, argue about whether you should have recognized that station sooner, then come back tomorrow.

Traindle also leans into the wide world of railways instead of focusing on a single country. You will see North American freight locomotives, European high-speed lines, famous Asian stations, heritage steam icons, and modern electric workhorses sitting next to each other. The point is not strict realism to one region. The point is to celebrate trains as a global obsession.

Some modes are still marked beta because they need more polish, more data, or better clue balancing. That is intentional. Traindle is built to grow over time. The more trains, routes, stations, images, and sounds that get added, the better the daily rhythm becomes.

There is also a small bonus system on the hub page called the Daily Yard Board. It is a lightweight daily reset side feature that refreshes on the same UTC schedule as the main puzzles, giving you a silly extra reason to check back in and see how your Rail Cookie total stacks up that day.
